Telus Be Brave Game

Today, students and staff in Grades 4, 5, and 6 attended the Telus “Be Brave” Hitmen game in support of ending bullying. All students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were exceptional representatives of Deer Run School. In fact, our three bus drivers called the school to compliment the students on their outstanding manners and behaviour.

A huge thank you to our School Council for generously providing a complimentary popcorn treat for all students in attendance. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the team of parents who took time out of their day on Monday to prepare the popcorn for everyone to enjoy.

Thank you to our School Council for covering the cost of tickets and bussing for all Division 2 students.

Report Cards

Student report cards are now available to view in your PowerSchool account. Students who are supported through an Individual Program Plan (IPP) should have brought home their updated IPPs today. Please review, sign, and return the signature pages as soon as possible.

School Conferences will take place on March 19 and 20, 2026. If you have any questions regarding your child’s report card, please reach out to their homeroom teacher.

Pink Shirt Day

Tomorrow, February 25, 2026, is Pink Shirt Day. Students are invited to wear pink shirts (or red, purple, etc.)  to school.

Pink Shirt Day is an international movement that encourages individuals to stand against bullying by wearing pink. Originating in 2007 in Nova Scotia, Canada, the movement began when two students organized a protest after a peer was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. Pink Shirt Day promotes kindness, inclusion, and safety, and raises funds to support anti-bullying initiatives.

Alberta Assurance Survey

Grade 4 parents/guardians should have received a random access code to complete the Alberta Assurance Survey. Please ensure the survey is completed no later than March 6, 2026.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

No School Reminder

Please remember that Friday (February 28, 2026)  is a non-instructional day. There will be no school for students, as staff will be off-site at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary participating in professional learning
