School Conferences
Thank you to all of our families that were able to attend School Conferences. Research shows that parent involvement in a child's learning and education has a high impact on a student's development. We know that our students take pride in sharing their learning and are excited when their families come to school, especially at night!
A HUGE thank you to our School Council for providing dinner for our teaching staff. This little treat goes a long ways in making us feel appreciated.

Hallowe'en Happenings
Hallowe'en Happenings is a long standing tradition at Deer Run School. All students will be invited to take part in Hallowe'en themed centers, as part of their gym class. Thank you to the those that have offered to volunteer their time for the center activities. Mr. Baker will be in touch to confirm the details. If children do not celebrate Hallowe'en, an alternative activity can be arranged. Students are welcome to wear costumes for the day on October 31. Costumes are optional and by no means required. We ask that special pieces of costumes (masks, wands, glasses, etc.) are best left at home, so that they are not left behind after school and can be used for evening festivities. All costumes need to be elementary school appropriate. This means no gore, violence and it needs to be respectful of all cultures.
Pyjama Day
Students are invited to wear pajama's to school on Friday November 1, 2024.
Winter Clothing
The weather is changing and we remind you that students spend an hour of time outside, each day. It is not a consideration to be kept inside until the weather reaches –20 degrees Celsius. If you need support to get winter clothing for your child, please email deerrun@cbe.ab.ca and we can connect you with community supports.
