Welcome Back!

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! What a great day we had yesterday, welcoming students back into the building. Enthusiasm and excitement filled our hallways and classrooms throughout the day. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with your children this year and look forward to forming strong school-home partnerships that will result in optimal learning and personal growth for them. We thank you for trusting us.

Connection

Before welcoming students back, the Deer Run staff worked hard to identify priorities for the new school year. The number one priority is connection! We have defined this as having a connection to each other, the land, and our own purpose, goals, and objectives. You can expect to be hearing and seeing this work in action this year at our school.

Please Return Forms

An information package containing medical, volunteer, and important information will be going home next week. Please return them to the school as soon as possible.

Attendance Reminders

If your student is going to be away for any reason, we kindly ask that you:

• Call the school and leave a message on the attendance line indicating your student’s name, homeroom teacher, the date, and reason for the absence.

OR

• Email your student’s teacher AND deerrun@cbe.ab.ca giving the same information.

Any student arriving after 8:18 am will be marked late. Collectively as a staff, we are committed to having engaging learning activities ready to begin right at 8:18 am. Arriving late can be disruptive to the class and get a student’s day off to a rough start. We thank you for your support with this.
